Job Title: Plastics and coatings technology engineer
Department: Manufacturing Workshop
I. Job Description
Responsible for developing and supervising the entire plastics and coatings technology process in production; ensuring technical quality, process stability, performance improvement, and cross-departmental coordination in the implementation of technical and technological solutions.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Process development & Control
- Develop and refine production processes for plastic components and surface coating (e.g., surface treatment, spray painting, curing, etc.).
- Apply advanced technologies such as plastic injection molding, robotic painting, electrostatic spraying, UV coating, etc., to ensure high technical standards.
- Establish technical specifications, material consumption norms, and standard cycle times for each production stage.
2. Technical guidance & Operational supervision
- Provide technical instructions and hands-on training to production workers.
- Monitor process quality at each stage, troubleshoot defects, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
3. Technological improvement & Cross-functional collaboration
- Propose improvements in technology, materials, or production lines to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and other departments to implement new products and support technology transfer.
II. Job Requirements
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Materials Engineering, Plastics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Skill:
- In-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding, surface treatment, and industrial painting processes.
- Proficient in developing technical standards, preparing work instructions, and optimizing production processes.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; experienced in using problem-solving tools for production defects (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, etc.).
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing plant with plastic injection or industrial coating lines.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in Japanese or Korean-standard production environments, or those familiar with 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Production systems.
IV. Kpi & Evaluation Criteria
1. Process development & Control
- ≥ 95% of technical processes are completed on schedule and effectively implemented in production.
- At least one material and time consumption standard per production step is issued each quarter.
- ≥ 90% of products meet technical standards on the first pass
2. Technical guidance & Operational supervision
- 100% of operator teams receive technical instruction and sign training acknowledgment forms.
- ≥ 90% of technical defects are detected and resolved during the production shift.
3. Technological improvement & Cross-functional collaboration
- Minimum of one proposal per quarter related to process, material, or production line improvement.
- ≥ 60% of proposed improvements are successfully implemented in practice.
- Active participation in ≥ 90% of cross-functional technical meetings related to new product development.
