We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer with a strong background in plastics and polymer science to join our Automation team. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with new factory partners to support and optimize the production of blow molded plastic furniture products. This role demands deep technical expertise in chemical engineering related to plastics, along with a strong understanding of automation processes to help streamline manufacturing, improve product quality, and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with newly onboarded factories to support the development and scale-up of blow molded plastic furniture production.
Provide chemical and material expertise related to polymer selection, formulation, and processing for blow molding applications.
Work alongside the Automation team to integrate chemical engineering principles into automated manufacturing processes.
Analyze and troubleshoot material, process, and product performance issues in blow molded products.
Develop and implement process improvements to optimize product quality, cycle time, and material usage.
Coordinate with R&D, quality control, and production teams to ensure consistency and compliance with specifications.
Conduct technical training and knowledge transfer sessions for factory teams on chemical/material aspects.
Assist in supplier evaluation and qualification of raw materials, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material properties, product quality, and process efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies in plastics and blow molding.
1. Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field.
2. Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in Plastics Chemical engineering, ideally in blow molding or related polymer processing.
Experience working in or with manufacturing automation teams is highly preferred.
Proven track record in collaborating with external factories or partners on technical development projects.
3. Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, plastic materials (especially those used in blow molding), and their processing behaviors.
Familiarity with blow molding processes, equipment, and quality control parameters.
Understanding of automation technologies and how chemical/material knowledge applies to automated production lines.
Proficient in analyzing material properties, failure modes, and corrective actions.
Experience with process optimization tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.
